To the One Who is Exhausted

To everyone who is tired of living from tragedy to tragedy. To everyone who is exhausted. To all those who keep going even when they want to give up.

I see you. I hope that you find the strength to hold on this week. I hope that you hold on to your loved ones, hopes, dreams, morality, and joy. I truly pray that you find your joy. Do not let the darkness and evil of this world take away your joy. Joy and peace are your birthright. We were not created to feel this much grief, pain, and sorrow all at once. Since it seems that we must, take the extra time that you need this week. Give yourself grace for showing up this week and hold extra space for how hard it is right now. Give yourself credit for being inundated with trauma and still successfully navigating the cares of your own life.

Give yourself grace for showing up this week and hold extra space for how hard it is right now.

I hope you find the will to let go this week. I hope you find the grace to not turn into the people that hate us so badly. Find the strength to not repay evil or to let hate grip your heart. I hope that you let go of fear today. You deserve a life of ease. You deserve to take up space in every room that you enter because God orders your steps. You do not deserve to fear going to the movie theater, to church, to the grocery store, work or to school. They will not make us fearful. Even if you feel the anxiety, the racing thoughts, the chest tightness, the shortness of breath. Take time to breathe. Surround yourself with people and things that bring you the utmost love and joy. I hope that you can let go of the need for answers or solutions right now. There is work to be done and we will accomplish it.

But for now, fight to protect your light.
